There are reportedly individuals in AEW who are still pushing for the company to sign WWE NXT star Candice LeRae.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, several people in power in AEW who want to see LeRae join their roster.
Noting that we could be seeing both Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae step back between the ropes soon, Meltzer wrote:
“Regarding Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae, both should be back in wrestling relatively soon. There is nothing set as to where but as we noted, LeRae has people pushing for her in AEW. Gargano has an open door to WWE but also the realization that he’ll be able to make money but not be pushed since NXT is focusing on younger people and while he may be able to get a main roster spot, it’s unlikely they’ll do anything with him.”
LeRae last wrestled during the July 2021 NXT Great American Bash event. She stopped appearing regularly on TV around this time due to her pregnancy, before giving birth in February. She became a free-agent last month, after her WWE contract expired.
