Details have emerged on the backstage reaction to recent waiting times between matches on WWE TV.
It is no longer rare when watching Raw or SmackDown to see a wrestler make their entrance, WWE cut to another promo or announcement, then cut to commercials, then finally back to the ring for the beginning of a match.
While there have been some significant waiting times in recent months, it was pointed out that Liv Morgan made her entrance almost 20 minutes before her and Rhea Ripley locked up in the main event of the May 30 edition of WWE Raw.
Fightful Select (subscription required) reached out to a number of stars who have had these waits before their matches. Several stars reportedly expressed their frustrations, noting that they have spoken with higher ups about the situation. Talents have been told that the current format improved the show’s flow.
The report noted that when one star was asked what they do during the wait, they said they “talk to the crowd, dance, get annoyed that I’m waiting that long.”
After stepping away from his positions as CEO and Chairman of WWE amidst allegations, Vince McMahon made a WWE TV appearance, opening Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
McMahon was reportedly more involved than usual with last week’s taping, which you can read more about right here.
