AEW star Dax Harwood says that CM Punk would come back if he could win the Trios Championships with his friends.
After winning the AEW World Championship at Double Or Nothing, CM Punk was greeted by IWGP, AAA and ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR during his celebration.
The three men went on to defeat Max Caster and the Gunn Club on the June 1 edition of AEW Dynamite.
In a tweet, Dax Harwood of FTR revealed that he had spoken to Punk and found out the only way the AEW World Champion would come back right now.
Harwood wrote the following caption:
Just talked to Punk. He said the only way he’d come back is if he could win the brand new 6 man straps with his friends.
We’re his friends.
On the June 3 edition of AEW Rampage, CM Punk revealed that he had suffered a foot injury that would keep him out of action. He didn’t relinquish the AEW World Title and instead an Interim champion was crowned.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Jon Moxley defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to win the AEW Interim World Championship.
Moxley will make his third defense of the title against Chris Jericho on the August 10 “Quake At The Lake” special of AEW Dynamite.
Meanwhile, the AEW World Trios Championship will be determined in a tournament with the finals taking place at All Out on September 4.
Just talked to Punk. He said the only way he’d come back is if he could win the brand new 6 man straps with his friends.
We’re his friends.
