Tony Nese has teased that he will ‘ruin’ the Undisputed AEW World Championship match set for the August 24 edition of Dynamite.
While both CM Punk and Jon Moxley consider themselves the true AEW World Champion, only one man will be a titleholder by the end of Wednesday’s show… probably.
On Twitter, Nese teased that he’ll interfere during the bout, sharing a post about the upcoming match with the caption:
“Would be a shame if someone ruined this….”
Punk won the official AEW World Championship from Hangman Page at Double or Nothing, but stepped away from the ring in early June to recover from a foot injury.
While Punk was out of action, Jon Moxley won the interim AEW World Title at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi to claim the gold.
Some have speculated that the Undisputed AEW World Championship match is taking place on Dynamite so that MJF can return and be inserted into the title picture ahead of All Out on September 4.
MJF, who hasn’t appeared on AEW TV since the June 1 edition of Dynamite, is reportedly expected to make his return soon.
