WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg Brian James has found himself in many different backstage roles in the company in the past decade. James had worked in NXT, as a main roster producer and most notably as the lead writer for SmackDown.
Road Dogg oversaw many moments in the company’s history, but he recently named the storyline that he was most proud of being a part of.
Speaking on his ‘Oh, You Didn’t Know?’ podcast, Road Dogg named his involvement with the KofiMania storyline in 2019 as the story he’s most proud of.
He said:
“The proudest moment of probably my career was being so involved with KofiMania. I was heavily, heavily, heavily involved in the creation of that show, and some before it. That one hit different, that one had a different feel to it.”
The sudden rise of Kofi Kingston took the wrestling world by storm back in 2019, when he replaced the injured Mustafa Ali in the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship.
Kofi’s popularity exploded during a gauntlet match in February that year, before he eventually overcame the odds, defeating Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
Road Dogg was released from WWE back in January of this year, as part of WWE’s attempts to reshape Triple H’s vision of NXT, before he was brought back to the company last month as part of the Triple H regime.
