AEW President Tony Khan has confirmed that former ROH World Champion Rush has officially signed with the promotion.
Khan took to Twitter to confirm that Rush is now All Elite, writing:
It’s official: @rushtoroblanco is All Elite!
What a week for Rush!
Yesterday was his birthday, today he’s All Elite, and it’s Rush vs @SilverNumber1
TONIGHT on Friday Night #AEWRampage!
Rush first appeared for AEW at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May, in a segment alongside Andrade El Idolo. Since making his AEW debut, the Mexican star has shared the ring with a number of the promotion’s top stars, notably challenging for the interim AEW World Title at Dynamite: Fight For The Fallen in July.
As noted by Tony Khan, he will face John Silver on Friday’s (September 30) edition of Rampage.
Rush needs to watch his back, with Chris Jericho recently vowing to defeat every former ROH World Champion. The Mexican star has held ROH’s top title twice, with his most recent reign coming to an end at the hands of Bandido in 2021 after 498 days with the gold.
Bandido unsuccessfully challenged for Jericho’s ROH World Title on the September 28 edition of Dynamite, and was reportedly offered an AEW contract after his match.
