In the main event of this week’s (September 28) episode of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho defeated former Ring of Honor World Champion Bandido.
Bandido was given a standing ovation for his performance at the end of the match, and AEW President Tony Khan even came out and Bandido’s hand aloft at the end of the match.
This led to a lot of speculation that Bandido had signed with AEW, and it appears that may well be the case. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW has offered him a long-term deal, although it isn’t known whether or not he’s signed on the dotted line.
The report reads:
While we don’t have confirmation that Bandido has signed with AEW, we do have confirmation that he was offered a full-time contract immediately after his performance in the loss to Chris Jericho on 9/28 in Philadelphia.
Bandido has been a standout performers on the world independent scene for a decade, and is widely considered as one of the most gifted Luchadors of this generation. Should he sign for AEW, he will likely be regarded as one of the company’s biggest stars.
