Saraya has fired back at criticisms of the AEW physician who has cleared her to wrestle almost five years after her last match.
On Twitter, a user who refers to themselves as ‘THE REALITY CHECK FOR THE IWC’ claimed that:
“Paige has been cleared by AEW DR Sampson.
I hope it goes well
But keep in mind, Paige wasn’t cleared by 15 Drs who evaluated her neck beforehand
Sampson has been accused of numerous unethical decisions
Hmm just seems fishy to me.”
Whilst the REALITY CHECK may, very much like many of those who tweet on behalf of the ‘Internet Wrestling Community’, be self-professed well informed individuals, Saraya had a very different take on the situation.
The Dr Sampson in question is AEW’s resident physician and there were no indications as to any of the ‘numerous unethical decisions’ that Sampson is accused of committing, although there have been some previous concerns about injuries during matches in AEW, such as Matt Hardy at All Out 2020.
Tweeting in response, Saraya clarified that:
“I’ll bite on this because… Bro. You just straight-up lying for clicks. Tf. 15 Drs?!?! I learn something new about myself every day on here. Insane. Hahahaha also you’re getting your Drs mixed up because Dr Sampson saves lives.”
With Saraya recently stating that she hadn’t had a conversation about an in-ring return during her time with WWE, it does seem odd that anyone would request fifteen doctors to assess her.
