MJF recently made his return to AEW television at All Out after months of being on ice following his worked shoot promo on the Dynamite following his loss to Wardlow at Double or Nothing.
Since his return, MJF has been the same old person that he was before he left, referencing his contract coming up in 2024, and teasing joining the ‘American Rollercodester’ Cody Rhodes in WWE.
MJF spoke to Sam Roberts on the NotSam podcast, where he was asked about his current relationship with Cody following his AEW departure and subsequent WWE return earlier this year.
MJF said that he and Cody are ‘best friends’, and that he ‘respects the s**t’ out of him.
He said:
“I’ll still call him when I honestly need… rarely do I need advice – I mean, look at me. But I’ll call him because I respect the s**t out of him. I’ll call him to get a second masterful opinion.”
MJF has possession of the poker chip from the Casino Ladder match he entered as the Joker back at All Out, which entitles him to an AEW World Championship match whenever he chooses.
MJF also recently discussed the missed meet and greet from before Double or Nothing that instigated the entire chaotic weekend that he and AEW had ahead of the show.
Cody Rhodes is currently rehabbing his torn pectoral muscle he suffered back in June.
