Here’s the latest news on Cody Rhodes and how his recovery is going ahead of a much-anticipated WWE return, whenever that may take place.
Rhodes has been out since his Hell in a Cell match with Seth Rollins on June 5 due to suffering a torn pec days before that match, but he wanted to push through and do the match before taking time off.
In the latest update, Dave Meltzer writes in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rhodes “appears to be a little ahead of schedule in healing” and is currently working with DDP.
Things are said to be “normal” in Rhodes’ “real life”, but “any upper body weights he can use are extremely light”.
Meltzer notes that there is “no firm date for a return” yet, and even when there is, it’ll probably be kept a secret anyway so his return gets a big surprise pop.
Things are said to be looking good for a return at Royal Rumble on January 28, but if he’s ready in time, Day 1 on January 1 could also be an option as that’s taking place in Rhodes’ hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.
We continue to wish Rhodes all the best throughout his recovery and we’re looking forward to seeing him back in action.
