New reports have revealed the latest updates on WWE’s plans for Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson, and his current status.
Steveson had previously been training while still in college, and there had been a number of reports in recent weeks that WWE wasn’t happy with how he’d been progressing in training.
However, that was followed by the news last week that Steveson had made the move to training full-time at the WWE Performance Center after undergoing heart surgery.
As reported by Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Steveson is now at the point of doing practice matches at the PC.
In an additional note from Fightful Select, WWE officials do still have high hopes for him based on how his brother, Bobby Steveson, who performs as Demon Kemp in NXT, has progressed.
Kemp is set to face Julius Creed in an Ambulance Match at NXT Halloween Havoc on Saturday, October 22.
