Former WWE Star Retired? WWE

A former WWE star who has recently been in headlines over a rumored return may be retiring from the ring.

Tyler Breeze was released from WWE with his fellow Breezango tag partner, Dirty Dango ‘Fandango’ in June 2021.

Breeze has not competed since his release from the promotion. He remains active elsewhere in the wrestling business, including running his own wrestling school alongside AEW’s Shawn Spears. Breeze previously noted in August 2021 that he’ll only return to the ring if he gets the itch to compete again.

AEW’s Shawn Spears has now indicated that Breeze’s days as an in-ring performer are officially over, noting the following to Renee Paquette in a recent edition of The Sessions:

“(Breeze) still works out, he’s still in shape. There will be times we’ll hop in the ring and have 20, 25 minutes. We just did that a couple of weeks ago with the Gunns, just at the school to get some cardio in. He can still go, he still does everything.

“But I say to him, ‘Hey man, getting ready for a second run?’ He goes ‘Nah, (I’m) retired.’ So I don’t know. That’s the true answer. But I see the excitement sometimes when he hops in.”

Despite Breeze’s assertions that he is ‘retired,’ Shawn Spears holds out hope that he may return and says it comes down to timing.

He continued:

“He’s done very well for himself, he’s a very smart guy. But I think it still creeps in every now and then, and I only know that because of how passionate he is when he teaches too. So if he didn’t care, he’d be a little more relaxed. It’s just a matter of timing, or the right opportunity to present itself.

“I hope that he’s not done because he still has a lot to offer. Just an incredible coach, good human being, and a benefit to this industry.”

Tyler Breeze recently announced a return to WWE as a guest trainer at the Performance Center during the October 5 episode of The Bump.

Breeze also features on Xavier Woods’ gaming channel, UpUpDownDown, and was involved in another video game group called Da Party alongside Woods,  Adam Cole and Claudio Castagnoli.
