UPDATE – WrestleVotes has now followed up on its original report regarding Stone Cold Steve Austin, tweeting:
“I’ll follow up on this, source believes Austin would definitely listen to any proposal for this year’s Mania.
“Me, nor the rest of the world, knows what his answer would be however.”
A big update has emerged on the possibility of Stone Cold Steve Austin potentially wrestling again for WWE.
Austin made his in-ring return – his first official match since 2003 – on the first night of WrestleMania 38 in April 2022 for a No Holds Barred match against Kevin Owens, which Austin won.
Austin then appeared on the second night of WrestleMania 38, giving Stone Cold Stunners to Austin Theory, Pat McAfee and Vince McMahon.
In an update on Austin’s status, WrestleVotes told GiveMeSport:
“I know that he had a wonderful time doing it last year in Dallas. He was happy, he was elated.
“Let’s say that the performance of the match, everything went so well and people loved it so much.
“So I know he was thrilled post-WrestleMania. And I’d say he was open to doing it again.”
Just to be clear on the report, there’s no actual confirmation that Austin is planning to wrestle again – just that there’s a belief in WWE he could be open to the idea.
It’s actually a pretty big development considering how he was so against having a return match for so long until WrestleMania 38 came along.
The fact he doesn’t seem to have ruled out another match is definitely noteworthy, and we’ll keep you informed if any more updates come out.
