An AEW star wishes CM Punk and The Elite situation didn’t happen.
At AEW All Out, CM Punk went on a verbal tirade on Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks during the post media scrum.
Following his comments, Punk reportedly got into a backstage brawl with The Elite that led to all those involved being suspended by the company and removed from television.
During a virtual signing for K&S WrestleFest, Shawn Spears was asked about the CM Punk situation.
Spears answered:
“Sad. Overall, sad [Spears said about the CM Punk/AEW situation]. That’s what I think. Sad. Wish it didn’t happen. ”
Noting that he was not at the All Out event, he stated:
“That’s another thing too; I wasn’t there. I don’t have any first-hand knowledge. I read everything you guys read and I don’t believe everything I read so, sad overall. “
Spears concluded that CM Punk has always delivered quality, which makes his loss sad for everyone involved.
He said:
“It’s CM Punk… With his body of work, [that’s what] you come to expect [Spears referring to a comment about the positive impact Punk had on-screen]. He delivers quality. That’s what he does.”
“That’s why it’s sad. Because he owes me a rematch, Punk, son of a b***h.”
As previously reported, CM Punk is reportedly engaged in contract buyout talks with All Elite Wrestling.
