A Ring of Honor Women’s World Championship match has been announced for ROH Final Battle 2022.
On Saturday, December 10, Ring of Honor will present their final pay-per-view of 2022 with Final Battle 2022 from Arlington, Texas.
AEW announced that Mercedes Martinez will defend the ROH Women’s World Championship against Athena at Final Battle 2022.
On the November 18 edition of AEW Rampage, Athena completed her heel turn by attacking Madison Rayne after their match and striking referee Aubrey Edwards. Following Athena’s assault, Mercedes Martinez made her return to confront “The Fallen Goddess”.
The week following, Athena challenged Martinez for the ROH Women’s Title.
This bout will join the card, which will be headlined by Chris Jericho vs. Claudio Castagnoli for the Ring of Honor World Championship. If Claudio loses, he must join the Jericho Appreciation Society.
Also on the card, Daniel Garcia will defend the ROH Pure Championship against Wheeler Yuta. For the full lineup for ROH Final Battle 2022, click here.
