NJPW star Kota Ibushi has named three WWE stars he would like to face.
Ibushi has never been contracted to WWE despite his several appearances for the company during the Cruiserweight Classic in 2016. However, several of WWE’s top stars are well-traveled veterans and have stood across the ring from Ibushi in the past.
Speaking with Dark Puroresu Flowsion, Kota Ibushi named Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura as three WWE stars he wants to work with again someday. He stated:
“Sami Zayn Finn Bálor Shinsuke Nakamura. I would like to work with these three someday.”
“The reason is that I have had my best bouts with them in the past, so I would like to see the current chemistry between myself & them.”
“The Golden Star” first competed against Sami Zayn in 2012 during their time with DDT Pro Wrestling. Zayn, then known as El Generico, successfully defended his KO-D Openweight Championship against Ibushi at DDT Special 2012.
Ibushi last wrestled Finn Balor under his “Prince Devitt” moniker at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 8. On that night, Ibushi defeated Devitt to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. One year later, Kota went one-on-one with Shinsuke Nakamura, losing the bout for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.
I asked Kota Ibushi who is 3 most desired WWE opponents are “Sami Zayn Finn Bálor Shinsuke Nakamura I would like to work with these 3 someday.
