UPDATE – New features, covers and the release date for WWE 2K23 have all been revealed – find out more at this link.
The official WWE Twitter page has posted a new teaser video for WWE 2K23 centered around John Cena and revealing new gameplay.
The video opens with Bad Bunny backstage getting a selfie with a fan and an invisible person (Cena).
There’s then a video of Logan Paul working out with an invisible person (Cena again).
Austin Theory is then attacked by… an invisible person (yes, Cena again).
Then we transition into a clip of a very small snippet of some gameplay showing Cena (not invisible in-game) giving Theory an Attitude Adjustment.
Cena himself is then shown on a sofa as the person playing the game, when Triple H and Bad Bunny walk by, and Cena is shocked they can actually see him.
Then we go back to some gameplay-style clips with the text: “See John Cena, Beat John Cena, Be Even Stronger Than John Cena”.
So it seems the lead idea for the game is being able to beat John Cena, and we can pretty safely assume the following names are in the game:
- John Cena
- Austin Theory
- Bad Bunny
- Logan Paul
- Triple H
The full official trailer and reveal for WWE 2K23 is reportedly set for this coming Saturday on January 28 during Royal Rumble.
It was recently leaked that Cena was the cover star (which now looks accurate) and the release date would be March 17, but that’s not been officially confirmed.
