David Finlay officially joined the Bullet Club faction at Monday’s (March 6) NJPW 51st Anniversary event.
During the NJPW 51st Anniversary show, the son of Fit Finlay defeated Tomohiro Ishii in the first round of the 2023 New Japan Cup tournament. Gedo was notably in Finlay’s corner during the bout.
Finlay is now set to face Great O Khan in their second round match on March 15.
Finlay has effectively replaced Jay White in the stable, after, attacking him at NJPW Battle in the Valley, after White was defeated by Eddie Kingston in a Loser Leaves NJPW match.
Prior to this, White had lost a Loser Leaves Japan match against Hikuleo, amid rumors that WWE was interested in signing both stars.
As of February 28, White was still a free agent.
Meltzer had previously reported that WWE were “certainly the favorite” to sign Jay White, especially with AEW having a working relationship with NJPW, the company in which White lost in two “loser leaves” matches.
