AEW star Ricky Starks has revealed that his highly praised promo segment with AEW World Champion MJF was unscripted.
On the December 7 edition of Dynamite, Starks and MJF met in the ring ahead of their AEW World Title match at Winter Is Coming 2022.
During the segment, Starks cut a passionate promo which was popular online, with some believing that he outshone the AEW World Champion on the mic.
Speaking on WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda, Starks noted that his entire speech was from the heart:
“The one against MJF? Yeah, that one was all straight from the heart. I stumbled a few times, but I never faltered.
“So yeah, that’s how I feel, I think people will appreciate the genuine feelings that a person can give out, especially for the fact that I’ve had so many people that they tell me ‘I loved that, I loved what you did, I loved what you said.’ If anything, if I were to die tomorrow, I’d hope that leaves a big legacy that Ricky (Starks) was a very genuine person.”
MJF most recently defended his AEW World Title against Bryan Danielson at AEW Revolution.
