A TNT Championship match has been added to the lineup for the April 12 edition of AEW Dynamite.
On the March 8 episode of AEW Dynamite, Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Wardlow to win the TNT Championship with the help of QT Marshall.
Since then, Marshall has been in the corner of Hobbs as the former Team Taz member has successfully defended his title against Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo of the Lucha Brothers in a pair of open challenges.
Hobbs and Marshall came up short in their bid to challenge the Lucha Bros for the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships at Battle of the Belts VI, but this hasn’t stopped Powerhouse from continuing his open challenges for his title.
On Tuesday, AEW announced that Powerhouse Hobbs will have another TNT Championship Open Challenge against former ROH TV Champion and Milwaukee’s own Silas Young on the April 12 episode of Dynamite.
This will mark Hobbs’ third title defense since winning the gold. Meanwhile, Young will be making his third appearance on AEW programming and has been on ROH TV as well.
This TNT Championship match will be the second title match on this Wednesday’s show. Orange Cassidy will also defend his AEW International Championship against House of Black’s Buddy Matthews on the show.
A TNT Title Open Challenge is set for TOMORROW on #AEWDynamite when #PowerhouseHobbs defends his belt vs. a hometown hero, former ROH World TV Champion, Milwaukee's own Silas Young @lastrealmanROH!
