If you watched the conclusion of Friday’s Puerto Rico edition of Smackdown you will have noticed Bad Bunny sporting a rather nostalgic jacket featuring WWE’s old scratched WWF logo used in the company between 1997 and 2002.
However, if you missed the live broadcast and instead caught the highlights posted on WWE’s YouTube channel you would see nothing but a blurred out image.
While WWE distances itself from its previous name of WWF and its old logo due to a historical legal battle with the World Wide Fund for Nature (previously called the World Wildlife Fund), they did notably stop censoring the logo out of pre-existing footage as of 2012.
However, as for new footage they still must refrain from actively presenting the logo hence why Bunny’s jacket was censored.
Despite this decision WWE themselves would make a rather bizarre inconsistency – as mentioned they would censor the YouTube highlights of the Bad Bunny segment, however, in the gallery images on WWE.com the jacket remains uncensored, as you can see below.
With Bunny set for his first singles match in WWE at Backlash, a new report has revealed that the original plans for the global superstar were in fact originally very different.
