Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima has stated that his dream is to face off against Samoa Joe.
On Saturday’s (July 8) edition of Collision, CM Punk defeated Samoa Joe in the semi-finals of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
Punk advanced to this round after defeating Satoshi Kojima in the quarterfinals at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2023.
The NJPW veteran has now taken to social media to note that he wants that Samoa Joe match one day.
Kojima tweeted:
On June 25th, if I had beaten CM Punk, I would have fought Joe at this time.
It’s my dream to fight Joe.
I hope that someday it will come true.
CM Punk will face Ricky Starks in the tournament finals on the next edition of Collision, following Starks’ semifinal victory over Powerhouse Hobbs.
The women’s tournament final will also take place next week, which will be Ruby Soho or Skye Blue vs Athena or Willow Nightingale.
Soho vs Blue will be on next week’s Dynamite and Athena and Nightingale will be on Rampage, postponed from tonight due to a Nightingale injury.
FTR will also defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Bullet Club Gold, and after Collision on Battle of the Belts, Shawn Spears will challenge Luchasaurus for the TNT Championship.
