Maki Itoh still has dreams of becoming All Elite and joining the AEW roster having made a number of appearances over the past two years.
Itoh made her AEW debut in February 2021 as part of the AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament Japan Bracket First Round.
She would return to AEW infrequently over the next two years but made her mark on Dynamite, Dark ‘Elevation’ and Rampage.
Arguably, her highest profile match would see her team with Britt Baker DMD to face Riho & Thunder Rosa on the AEW Revolution Buy In on March 7 2021.
At the June 7 ROH tapings, she made her debut for Tony Khan’s other wrestling company, teaming with then-NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale.
Speaking with Wrestling With Honor, Itoh has laid out her hope of joining AEW full-time, saying:
“I still want to be in AEW. It’s a narrow gate but my dream is to become an AEW roster (member) and play an active role on TV.”
Previously, Itoh had discussed Kenny Omega as her inspiration, revealing that she wanted to be “Best Bout Machine Maki Itoh.”
In Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, Itoh has been a two-time International Princess Champion.
She has also held the TJPW Princess Tag Team Championship with Miyu Yamashita.
