AEW’s Paul Wight has indicated that he wanted a singles match with Kenny Omega at All In London at Wembley Stadium.
With over 80,000 fans set to be at the August 27 event, Tony Khan had the difficult task of booking the supercard and choosing which matches made the show.
Speaking with DAZN in July in an interview which was shared this week, Wight noted that if he got to choose the main event for that show, he’d book himself versus Kenny Omega.
Believing that he and Omega could have had a match to remember, Wight said:
“I’m going to be super greedy and I’d pick myself and I would fight Kenny Omega. Kenny Omega is one guy in AEW that I think is just another talent that I would love to work with because of his intensity.
“I think Kenny and I could have torn the house down.”
Omega is set to team with Hangman Page and Kota Ibushi to battle Konosuke Takeshita, Jay White and Juice Robinson at Sunday’s event.
Tony Khan has now addressed criticism surrounding his decision to not book Kenny Omega in a singles match for the major show, which you can read more about right here.
While Wight hasn’t wrestled since March 2022, the former ‘Big Show’ recently hinted that he’s preparing for an in-ring return.
