Raw star Chad Gable has commented on his recent WWE run, believing that he is now seen as a singles wrestler.
While fans have called for a Chad Gable singles push for years, the popular star has recently had opportunities to show the world what he can do in matches against Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER.
With many fans arguing that their match on the September 4 edition of Raw was a match of the year contender, many fans have predicted that Gable will be the star who will ultimately dethrone the longest reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion.
Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Gable noted that he’s done with just being viewed as a tag-team wrestler.
Believing that he’s a singles star now, Gable said:
“I truly feel at this point that I’m ready for this, as a singles guy. I’m done with just being labeled the tag team guy. There’s something in me that has clicked now.
“I’m ready, and I’m confidently telling you that. So here we are now for a singles title, and I’m going into this match remembering I put this on myself.
“I’m the one that gave them my word that said, ‘I’m ready, so you better fricking deliver, and if you don’t, they have no reason to believe you in the future. They have no reason to read your pitches anymore.
“They have no reason to say, Oh, he’s got some good ideas, let’s give him a chance. That’s on you.’ So going into it, one of my biggest motivating factors was that and coming out of it was full gratification.”
Gable has revealed what he learned from Triple H in a recent backstage talk, which you can read more about right here.
