WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has commented on his current role in AEW and teaming with the FTW Champion HOOK.
RVD returned to AEW on October 25 having made his debut on the 200th episode of Dynamite in August, 2023.
He had previously revealed that “communication” between himself and AEW had dropped when they tried to link up a year prior.
Speaking on his 1 of a Kind podcast, RVD revealed his current thoughts about AEW while talking about another future team up with HOOK, saying:
“Of course, of course. Everyone is super cool there.
“Now that I’ve got a little bit of a situation as far as teaming up with HOOK, I feel there is more reason than ever to have me there.
“I feel good about that as opposed to, I don’t expect to ever hear from them again.”
During the podcast episode, he would also say that he liked the name ‘Smoke & Choke’ as a possible tag team name.
He would say that he saw the name on social media but wasn’t sure who had suggested it.
Following his AEW debut, RVD reacted to fans who criticized him saying he “did WWE wrong.”
