Tony Khan has provided an update on the future plans for a vacant championship in Ring of Honor after the title was relinquished on AEW TV.
On tonight’s episode of ROH, Khan addressed Samoa Joe relinquishing the ROH World TV Championship.
Khan went on to say that given the rich history of the title, he determined the best place to crown a new champ would be at the upcoming Ring of Honor ‘Honor Club’ exclusive pay-per-view, Final Battle in Garland, Texas.
At Final Battle on December 15, there will be a six-way ‘Survival of the Fittest’ match to determine the next ROH Television Champion.
In the coming weeks there will be a series of qualifying matches to determine which wrestlers will move on to be one of the six participants in the match.
Touting the ‘high stakes exciting matches’ that will serve as the qualifiers, Tony Khan noted that whichever wrestler wins will have ‘big shoes’ to fill.
Samoa Joe vacated the ROH World TV Championship on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite in order to focus more attention on chasing the AEW World Heavyweight Champion, MJF.
