Former WWE Champion JBL is backstage at tonight’s December 8 Tribute To The Troops edition of SmackDown from Providence.
Tonight’s Tribute To The Troops episode of SmackDown is shaping up to be one of its biggest weekly television shows of 2023.
Not only will the show feature the SmackDown return of CM Punk, but Randy Orton and LA Knight will team to face The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso.
Meanwhile, it seems like a former WWE Champion is in attendance for tonight’s buzzworthy show.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), John Bradshaw Layfield, also known as JBL, is backstage at tonight’s SmackDown from Providence, Rhode Island.
The report notes that it is unclear whether or not JBL will appear on screen during tonight’s broadcast. His appearance could be related to tonight’s Tribute To The Troops theme.
Layfield has not appeared prominently on WWE programming since he stopped managing Baron Corbin, but he did make a cameo video appearance on the November 21 episode of WWE NXT to choose Iron Survivor Challenge qualifier participants.
WrestleTalk will provide further updates on JBL’s status for tonight’s SmackDown when they become available.
