In another example of the way that hell has apparently frozen over, it seems that CM Punk could be headed to WWE NXT Deadline tonight.
After CM Punk sent a tease on Instagram, posting a story and pondering if there was anything interesting to do in Bridgeport, Connecticut on this fine Saturday, he has now received a response.
That response came from the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels himself, who not only now heads up NXT, but is already due to speak with Punk.
As referenced in his promo on last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, CM Punk made note that he would be speaking with HBK soon regarding NXT.
In an intriguing online exchange, Shawn Michaels has now just offered Punk to pop by NXT Deadline tonight!
On Twitter, Michaels wrote:
“.@CMPunk Since you’re in Bridgeport and have some time, let’s forgo the phone call and talk in person.”
NXT Deadline is set to feature a stacked card, including another former AEW star’s premium live event debut.
At Deadline, Carmelo Hayes is set to face off against Lexis King (formerly known as Brian Pillman Jr. in AEW) for the latter’s PLE debut.
Elsewhere set for the show, Ilja Dragunov defends the NXT Championship against Baron Corbin, Dirty Dominik Mysterio defends the North American Championship against Dragon Lee and a pair of intriguing matches.
Both the men’s and women’s divisions will host an Iron Survivor Challenge Match for the second time after debuting the stipulation at last year’s NXT Deadline.
Of course, WrestleTalk will keep you up to the minute with all of the news coming out of the show throughout the night.
