A big title change on WWE SmackDown as the final show before the Royal Rumble has already shifted the landscape of the Women’s Division.
On tonight’s go-home show of SmackDown in Miami ahead of the Royal Rumble in Tampa, Florida, there was a title match.
The Women’s Tag Team title was on the line when Kayden Carter and Katana Chance defended their championship against the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane).
After a rather thrilling match, it would eventually be the Kabuki Warriors who picked up the victory to become WWE Tag Team Champions together again after previously holding the titles for 171 days (October 2019 – March 2020).
With the Women’s Tag Team titles now in the possession of SmackDown’s Damage CTRL, the move enables them to continue to periodically appear on WWE Raw.
Earlier this week, Bayley popped up on WWE Raw and got into a back and forth exchange with Becky Lynch and Nia Jax ahead of their face-off in the titular Royal Rumble match.
Elsewhere set for WWE Royal Rumble, a big Fatal Four Way for the WWE Undisputed Championship as Roman Reigns looks to defend against AJ Styles, LA Knight and Randy Orton.
