WWE stars to bring back old entrance themes: Three wrestlers who could revisit the past following CM Punk using This Fire Burns at Worlds Collide 2026

Following recent speculation, CM Punk brought back an old but gold entrance theme at WWE Worlds Collide on Saturday, September 26.

At the show, which will air via YouTube on Wednesday, Punk made his entrance to This Fire Burns, just five months after making part of his WrestleMania 42 entrance to his independent entrance theme, Miseria Cantare.

There are a number of stars besides CM Punk who could soon bring back their previous walk-out music, from stars who have expressed interest in taking a trip down memory lane, to those who it’d make sense to see enter to a different song.

Here are three WWE stars who could soon bring back old entrance themes.

Drew McIntyre

At Clash at the Castle in 2022, Drew McIntyre brought back “Broken Dreams” for a video package that played ahead of his entrance for his WWE Undisputed Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns.

This whet a lot of fans’ appetites for McIntyre to use his popular theme for a full entrance, which definitely could happen in the coming months or years.

With Drew McIntyre having been out of action since April, fans are expecting him to hit the ground running upon his return, potentially challenging his former rival Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

While McIntyre may not make the permanent change, it’d be fun to see the Scottish Warrior made a full entrance to “Broken Dreams”, even as a one-off.

Matt Cardona

Since returning to WWE in January, Matt Cardona has made his entrance to “Alwayz Ready”, a theme which feels more in line with his current character than his previous WWE theme, “Radio”.

Matt Cardona recently revealed that he originally wanted to keep the entrance theme he was using on the independent scene – “When the Lights Go Down” by Downstait – however he “unfortunately wasn’t allowed to”.

With Cardona stating that he’d love to hear this track played in a WWE arena, it’d make sense for the almost-Grand Slam winner to bring this back for a big event or match.

With it even being acknowledged on WWE TV that Matt Cardona’s ultimate goal is to win the Undisputed WWE Championship, it’d be a full-circle moment to hear this theme playing while an announcer screams “…And new!”

Roman Reigns

At Royal Rumble 2022, and WrestleMania 40 in 2024, Seth Rollins used The Shield’s “Special Op” entrance music to throw Roman Reigns off his game.

The OTC has since let go of his anger about Seth Rollins’ betrayal, refusing to strike his former tag partner with a chair at SummerSlam, and fist-bumping him after their World Heavyweight Championship match.

With Roman and Seth’s rivalry now behind them, it’d be a full-circle moment to see both stars enter to “Special Op” together, reuniting their WWE Tag Team Championship-winning team.

With Roman Reigns previously confirmed for Survivor Series: WarGames, and heavily speculated to be competing in the titular match, this tag-team reunion could happen in the very near future.
