Drew McIntyre Will Face Brock Lesnar For The Universal Championship At WrestleMania 35
It’s clear that the ‘Scottish Psychopath’ is set for a huge push. McIntyre has made it known throughout his promos that’s he tired of nostalgia acts and wrestlers who don’t perform at a high level.
Lesnar has been portrayed as a lazy champion, who could care less about the WWE. The company can easily book this in the vein of Lesnar/Cena at 2014, but more so with McIntyre using his ring IQ to outsmart Lesnar’s moveset, which is not hard to do since its mostly suplexes and an F5. Lesnar doesn’t have to look like a total chump in this match, but having McIntyre look strong and win against Lesnar will put him over huge.
Both Lesnar and McIntyre are currently heels. It’s not an ideal scenario but the company continues to show that there are no babyfaces or heels on the WWE roster, just characters. Recent example, the oddball but awesome Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar match at Survivor Series.
Anyone who’s taken screenwriting 101 will tell you that’s bad writing but this is how Vinnie Mac and company operate, thus this match wouldn’t seem impossible for the company to book at WrestleMania.
