10 Undertaker Matches You MUST See

10 Undertaker Matches You MUST See

10. The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar – Hell in a Cell 2015

The Undertaker’s career may be over and that means we have an opportunity to look back at his best matches. Throughout his three-decade career, Undertaker has had more than his fair share of classics. These are the ten you must see.

First on the list is Undertaker’s final clash with Brock Lesnar. Their match at WrestleMania XXX was incredibly disappointing but they made up for it in 2015. Their SummerSlam match was good but indecisive and so they had to settle things in Hell in a Cell.

This was a very violent Hell in a Cell match, the likes of which we rarely see these days. There was blood which always helps make these matches more intense, and Lesnar was focused on breaking the ring with Undertaker’s body. He didn’t do it but it made for a cool visual. To date this was the last great one-on-one match The Undertaker had that wasn’t cinematic.

9. The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle vs. The Rock – Vengeance 2002

Three of the biggest stars of the Attitude Era clashed in an epic Triple Threat match at Vengeance 2002. The Undertaker was the WWE Undisputed Champion with The Rock set to be his challenger. However, Kurt Angle threw his name into the hat by nearly defeating Undertaker on the July 4 episode of SmackDown.

This is one of the best Triple Threat matches in history. Considering who was involved this shouldn’t come as a surprise. 2002 may not have been a great year for WWE coming out of the Attitude Era but we still got main event matches like this. The Undertaker may have been a heel but he was consistently having big matches during this time.

8. The Undertaker vs. Batista – WrestleMania 23

It may be hard to believe now, but The Undertaker’s streak did not feature many classic matches through his first 14 WrestleMania appearances. There were some good ones, but nothing show-defining. That changed at WrestleMania 23. Against all odds, he and Batista had a blowaway match in Detroit.

Batista had not been known for good matches during this time. He had suffered a number of injuries and there were doubts about this match going in. Credit to these two men as they surpassed all expectations. Their match was dynamic and hard-hitting, only going 15 minutes. It was Undertaker’s first great WrestleMania match and you all know it was not his last.
