3. Roman Reigns vs. Big E
At Payback, Roman Reigns recaptured the Universal Championship after a 5-month hiatus from WWE. His return saw a more brutal side of Roman that fans hadn’t seen before, the Tribal Chief.
Determined to make the entire SmackDown locker room kneel before him, Roman won’t stop until he’s made an example out of every wrestler who opposes his reign.
One athlete who wouldn’t back down against the Tribal Chief would be Big E. After being separated from the rest of The New Day in the 2020 WWE Draft, E has set out to conquer the singles division.
The former powerlifter has experienced both NXT Championship and Intercontinental Championship success before. The only attainable title on the Blue Brand that Big E is yet to win is the Universal Championship, belonging to The Tribal Chief.
Both Big E and Roman Reigns need the world title to live up to their respective high expectations. A battle between two powerhouses, this contest would be truly unmissable.
2. Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair
The Boss vs. The EST.
Banks and Belair both made names for themselves in NXT. Both women prided themselves on being one of the most talented performers in the brand’s history, regardless of gender. Now they’re both on SmackDown, these larger than life athletes must lock horns in 2021.
With Sasha and Bianca equally loving to make the biggest impact possible, even their wars of words will get fans talking. The eventual match would be as explosive as the build, with Belair and Banks both determined to be the best athlete on the Blue Brand.
Recently, The Boss and The EST have been sharing a ring, but only as allies. As good of a team The EST and the SmackDown Women’s Champion make, it’s only a matter of time before Belair and Banks want to go one-on-one.
1. Finn Bálor vs. WALTER
Finn Bálor defeating Ilja Dragunov at NXT Worlds Collide 2020 sent a clear message to the NXT UK roster. It didn’t take long for Bálor to receive a reply, with Imperium ambushing Finn in February.
Just as Finn began to target Imperium’s leader, WALTER, COVID-19 restrictions were increased, making international travel difficult. Even though this dream match couldn’t happen in 2020, hopefully this NXT vs. NXT UK contest will be possible in 2021.
There have been some key changes since the European athletes were last preparing for battle. Bálor winning the NXT Championship confirms his place at the top of NXT. WALTER, being one of the most dominant NXT UK Champions in history, will want to prove that he is the top titleholder on The Gold Brand.
Whether their eventual match is for a title, or just to determine the superior wrestler, this highly anticipated clash would be talked about long after the final bell.
