2. Pushing Nia
Nia Jax has flip-flopped between babyface and heel for much of the year. Fans sympathised with her when Alexa Bliss bullied her for her size over WrestleMania season and supported her redemption story.
Then she squared off with Ronda Rousey and became a de facto heel, receiving boos from the crowd in the lead-up to the match for delivering monotone promos filled with corporate buzzwords and phrases.
She was a babyface again at Evolution when she won the women’s battle royal – despite hurling out crowd favourite Ember Moon – then the next night on Raw she acted like a horrible winner.
A week later she turned heel, joining forces with Tamina to batter Moon on Raw.

However, none of that made her hated like she is now. That was the result of Nia recklessly smashing Becky Lynch in the face with an errant punch, causing her to miss Survivor Series.
Jax has a history of injuring opponents, the biggest no-no in wrestling. Yet rather than punishing her WWE had her win the women’s elimination match at Survivor Series and are now proudly billing her as the #facebreaker.
The message is clear: if you are an unsafe worker who injures opponents and it gets over, you will be rewarded.
