Almost five months after WWE held the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia, it has now been announced that they will return to Saudi again this November for WWE Crown Jewel.
Along with the announcement of the November 2 show, it was also confirmed that we would be treated to the first ever WWE World Cup; a one-night tournament that will likely include between eight and 16 men to determine the “best in the world.”
While the prospect of a World Cup tournament is certainly intriguing, it’s unclear how much it will mean outside of the Crown Jewel show.
Regardless, it should lead to some fun and possibly great matches. If WWE makes it more than a one off attraction, it could also help a performer whose career has become stagnant, or give a star that is already being pushed an extra nudge towards the top.
One can only speculate as to who will come out on top at Crown Jewel. So that is exactly what I am going to do. Here are five wrestlers that I would like to see win the WWE World Cup.
Please note these are in no particular order.
Seth Rollins (USA)
There is arguably nobody more over right now than Seth Rollins. Every time “Burn It Down” is played during his entrance it seems like the crowd reaction is louder than the last. He has also made a hobby out of stealing the show each time he is in the ring. Seth Rollins seems like an obvious pick to win given his established superstar status.
However, it seems like the feud between the Shield and the ‘Dogs of War’ is just getting started, so Seth’s spot at Crown Jewel may not be in the World Cup after all. Time will tell, but picking Seth to win would be as safe a bet as any.
