8 Things We Learned At WWE WrestleMania 42 Night One WWE

The first night of WWE WrestleMania 42 is officially in the books, with the show featuring a number of key moments at Allegiant Stadium.

Amongst the matches, fans had a lot of talking points coming out of the show, with us learning several new things about the future of the WWE product ahead of the second night.

Here are 8 things we learned at WWE WrestleMania 42 night one.

Pat McAfee Done With WWE

Heading into tonight’s show, Pat McAfee was the talk of the wrestling world, with TKO reportedly inserting him into the Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton rivalry ahead of their highly anticipated clash.

With McAfee aligning with Orton, he made the claim that if Randy Orton lost to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, he would never appear on wrestling television again.

Well, with that being exactly what happened in the main event of tonight’s show, it seems as though we may have seen the last of Pat McAfee in WWE, if the stipulation is to be honored.

A tag team match between McAfee and Orton against Jelly Roll and Cody Rhodes was planned for WWE Backlash, but following Orton’s RKO on McAfee, it seems as though those plans have been scrapped.

IShowSpeed To Wrestle More For WWE

Tonight marked the first official match in WWE for streamer IShowSpeed, who kicked off the proceedings in six-man tag team action, teaming with Austin Theory and Logan Paul against The Usos and LA Knight.

While Speed would come up short in his match, the post-match angle is what got fans talking the most, with Logan Paul jumping Speed before he was saved by the babyface team.

Speed would then hit a splash on Logan Paul off the top rope through the announce table, creating a memorable moment for Speed.

With fans impressed with his recent commitment to the company ahead of WrestleMania, as well as him being a part of a big angle on the show, it seems as though we could see more from IShowSpeed in the ring coming out of WrestleMania 42.

Bianca Belair Announces Pregnancy

One of the surprises of the night came during John Cena’s announcement of the attendance for night one, when he was interrupted by the returning Bianca Belair.

Bianca has not competed since last year’s WrestleMania event in Las Vegas, where she came up short in a three-way against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley.

However, after a year out of action, fans are going to have to wait even longer for the return of the EST, with her announcing on the show that she is pregnant with her and Montez Ford’s first child together.

We send our congratulations and all the best to Bianca and Montez ahead of their exciting new chapter.

Advertisements Plague WWE’s Premium Live Events

Coming out of tonight’s show, one major talking point among fans was the placement, and quantity of, advertisements running throughout WrestleMania itself.

This is the first year that WrestleMania has aired on ESPN+ in the United States, which means fans were seeing advertisements frequently on the show, with the amount of adverts seemingly leading to much shorter matches.

The decision for Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer’s Women’s World Championship match to only last 6 minutes left a lot of fans frustrated, with many other matches also not getting out of first gear before they ended and cut to commercials.

On the international feed, it at times felt like we were watching the upcoming Hulk Hogan documentary, with bits of WrestleMania 42 night one spliced in.

Bron Breakker Returns To Take Out Seth Rollins

Bron Breakker was last seen on the February 2 episode of Raw, where he was seen trashing the ringside area following his instant Royal Rumble elimination.

Breakker suffered a hernia during the segment, which kept him out of action for a number of weeks, and ultimately led to his planned WrestleMania match with Seth Rollins being benched, and Rollins instead facing Gunther.

However, Breakker was cleared prior to tonight’s show, and he is now officially back in the fold, with him Spearing Seth Rollins during the match, leading to Gunther’s victory over Rollins.

Paul Heyman would come out and raise Breakker’s arm after the attack, confirming that Heyman and Breakker will remain a pairing on WWE television.

Liv Morgan & The Judgment Day On Good Terms

A World Championship change took place on tonight’s WrestleMania 42 night one show, with 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan defeating Stephanie Vaquer to win the Women’s World Championship for the second time.

Liv’s victory came after interferences from Judgment Day stablemates Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, who would attack Stephanie behind the referee’s back before celebrating Liv’s victory with her.

After Liv’s Royal Rumble win, which saw her eliminate Raquel from the match in the process, as well as teases of descension between Liv and Raquel, and speculation about Roxanne’s allegiance, some fans were expecting a twist for tonight’s match that would see Raquel and/or Roxanne cost Liv the match.

However, it seems that going forward, all is fine in the current iteration of the Judgment Day, though things don’t tend to stay that way for long.

Paige Returns To WWE

After 8 years away from a WWE ring, former WWE Diva’s Champion Paige is officially back in the company, with a championship to her name on her first night back.

Paige was announced as the replacement for the injured Nikki Bella, who was unable to team with her sister Brie in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match on the show.

Brie and Paige would go on to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship, besting Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, Lyra Valkyria and Bayley and the Irresistible Forces to bring home the gold.

Paige’s signing was reported yesterday ahead of the show, with her now set to continue in an in-ring role after being medically disqualified from ever wrestling again back in 2018.

Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton Rivalry Continues

While it seems as though we are done with Pat McAfee’s involvement, WWE fans may be finally set to get the highly anticipated feud between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

Tonight’s main event ended with Rhodes defeating Orton to retain his Undisputed WWE Championship after Orton dropped McAfee with an RKO, with Pat now gone from WWE as per the stipulation.

However, after the match Orton and Orton alone would lay Cody out with the WWE Championship title, before Punting Cody in the head and standing tall with Cody’s title.

Closing WrestleMania with the angle can only mean one thing; this feud is far from over.
