5. Drugs Don’t Work
Sticking with The Hardys and crazy footage, WWE 24 (the Network’s version of ESPN 30 for 30) features an absurd amount of TNA footage so they could properly show the decline of Jeff’s sanity, culminating in the infamous Victory Road 2011 event.
Bischoff explains that Jeff had to be held up by associates backstage but Dixie Carter insisted he was fine. Prichard says Hardy had to be literally dragged to the match with feet scraping the floor. Bischoff took it upon himself to show up pre-match and tell both men what was happening to salvage what he could of this PPV main event. WWE showed clips of the match without commentary so Eric’s instructions could be heard clearly for the first time and it’s alarming.
As in ”even more alarming than WWE using TNA footage” alarming.
The match (all 1:28 of it) was a black mark for Hardy for years. Luckily, he’s recovered and is currently United States Champion… and working while injured…and was off shows this year due to a DUI…
On that happy note, thanks for reading and go follow me on Twitter for more of the same.
