7 Options For CM Punk Now WWE Has ‘Turned Him Down’ WWE/AEW

CM Punk… Quite possibly the most polarising name in professional wrestling history. Love him or hate him, there’s no denying that he gets people talking. Never one to mince words, CM Punk has left a trail of enemies in his wake throughout his 24 year wrestling career.

From Vince McMahon to The Young Bucks, Punk has rubbed plenty of people up the wrong way, be it his fault or otherwise. However, due to his undeniable star power, doors have always remained open for him.

Until now.

Earlier today, Dave Meltzer reported that Punk was eager to return to the WWE after his AEW departure but it seems the WWE aren’t interested in signing him. According to Meltzer, they decided that the negatives outweighed the positives. Simply put, it wasn’t worth the potential hassle.

So where does that leave CM Punk? What can he do now he’s been shunned by the two biggest professional wrestling companies in North America?

Let’s have a look at seven things CM Punk could do next.

7. Go To IMPACT Wrestling

Impact

It’s probably safe to assume that Impact would be more than happy to accept Punk’s potential controversies in exchange for the eyes he would bring to their show. He is a huge draw.

Impact struggles to draw little more than 100,000 viewers, lagging far behind its competitors. Punk may be able to swing the needle in their favour, at least for a little while.

There are many people for him to wrestle in Impact, including his former indie buddies Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, some WWE alumni, and fresh talent such as Jason Hotch. He could even wrestle fellow AEW outcast Lio Rush!

The question a lot of fans would seem to have is, would CM Punk’s ego allow him to work in what is considered a ‘lesser’ promotion?
