How will the success of Zilla Fatu compare to the rest of The Bloodline in WWE?

Zilla Fatu has burst onto the scene in WWE NXT over the past couple of months, but how will his success compare to the rest of The Bloodline?

Fatu entered WWE with major fanfare, in large part due to the position his family has been in over the past six years.

WWE’s top storylines since 2020 have pretty much been built around Roman Reigns and The Usos, with other family members including Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu later joining the fray and remaining among the most prominent names on the entire WWE roster.

Zilla Fatu, the son of the legendary Umaga, is the latest in the family to debut in WWE, and it’s clear the expectation is already set.

A good start in NXT so far

After his first surprise NXT appearance, it took WWE just a few days to air a video package for him on mainline shows SmackDown and Raw, making sure even the casual viewers of those shows who don’t watch NXT are aware of his arrival.

He also immediately joined the main event mix in NXT – his first match was for the NXT Championship at Heatwave, in the main event four-way that also featured Cruz Montana, Tony D’Angelo and winner Grayson Waller.

In the few weeks since then, Fatu has been embroiled in something of a storyline with the Birthright faction in NXT – a group made up of multi-generational wrestlers.

Much like Zilla Fatu is the son of Umaga, Birthright features Brian Pillman’s son Lexis King, William Regal’s son Charlie Dempsey, Fit Finlay’s son Uriah Connors, Santino Marella’s daughter Arianna Grace, and Marella’s son-in-law-to-be Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo.

Birthright spent a couple of weeks attempting to recruit Fatu, but when he made it completely clear he was refusing and wouldn’t be budging on that decision, they decided to attack.

However, Fatu has found his own allies in the form Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux, who team up with him on tonight’s episode of WWE NXT against King, Connors and Stacks.

It’s quite clear that Fatu is the big star in all of this, and that the match and story really just exist as something to build him up and give him his first real big win.

Where will Zilla Fatu fit in on the main roster?

The question after that will become: what’s next? There’s been an expectation since his arrival that he won’t spend very long in NXT, and there’s already talk of him making the move up to the main roster to be with the rest of his family and involved in their storylines, which is currently a feud with the 946 crew of Royce Keys, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price.

For that to happen though, Fatu will have to make sure he impresses in the ring, which seems to be the case during his albeit short NXT run thus far.

When he does get to the main roster, it’ll be interesting to see where Fatu goes in comparison to the rest of The Bloodline.

Jacob Fatu has been talked about for two years now as the potential breakout top star of the family, taking the top spot that’ll surely be left behind by Roman Reigns some time soon as he continues to wind down his career.

Jey Uso had his big year in 2025, but it was quite clear that he wasn’t quite up to the standard of being a long-term main event singles star, and he’s now back in a very comfortable position as a tag team alongside twin brother Jimmy Uso.

It’s never really appeared that Sikoa would end up on that level, and he seems to have found a really good slot for himself as a popular comedy babyface – and he’s a comedy babyface who’s higher up on the card with more credibility than someone like Santino Marella or R-Truth in the past.

But where will Zilla end up? Will he break through in a major way and end up as a perennial main event player? Or will he fall just short of that and end up in a spot similar to Sikoa?

All signs right now are that WWE is pushing for him to be a real game changer – it’s now on him to make sure that happens.
