Impact Results and Review: Raven Helps Eddie Edwards

Johnny Impact & Taya Valkyrie defeat Moose and Tessa Blanchard

Taya taps out Tessa Blanchard for the duo to win the match.  While the match was good, the after match angle was what people were talking about at the end of the show.  As soon as the match was over, Moose spears Johnny Impact.  He then gets up in the face of Taya.  Tessa hits Taya from behind. She gets a chair and…

Out comes Killer Kross.  Moose assumes Kross is with him.  Don’t forget they were a thing when Aries was around.  Kross stops her from using the chair.  Moose is asking what’s going on, when out comes Brian Cage.  Cage clotheslines Moose to the outside.  He gives Kross a German suplex.  Kross steps up to Cage, but then just steps out of the ring.

Cage raises the hand of Taya and Impact to end the show.  There’s a lot going on here.  Where does Kross’ loyalty lie?  He’s been trying to convince Johnny Impact to use his services.  Where does he fit into the main event?  Is he the next challenger for Impact?  Or will he be the next enemy for Brian Cage?  Both of those options are interesting future stories.

Another two solid hours of Impact Wrestling.  Was it perfect? No.  We’re a month away from Homecoming.  We’re also about a month into the build.  This show managed to further several storylines, leave you with questions to force you to watch next week, and had some solid in-ring action.

Willie Mack vs Jake Crist and Ethan Page vs. Matt Sydal were solid competitive matches.  Allie and Desi Hit Squad had squash matches.  The main event wasn’t bad either, but the ending was really great.  Throw in 4 backstage segments that all served a purpose and you had a pretty good show.  It was better than I expected considering the talent booked.

When you have LAX, The Lucha Bros, Rich Swann, Sami Callihan, and Brian Cage not booked to be on Impact in the ring, I don’t usually think this is the show I can’t miss.  However, when Impact can put on a show like this without any of them in the ring, I’d say Impact is definitely hitting on all cylinders.

The next few weeks should be pretty interesting.  I’m not sure how much they have taped or if we’ll get the obligatory holiday recap shows, but if they have content taped, it might just be must see TV.  Homecoming is looking to be a great show:

  • LAX vs. The Lucha Bros
  • Ultimate X for the X-Division Title
  • Tessa vs. Taya, Moose vs. Eddie Edwards
  • Allie w/ Su Yung vs. Kiera Hogan
  • Eli Drake vs. Abyss in Monster’s Ball
  • Johnny Impact vs. Brian Cage

If you haven’t been watching Impact Wrestling of late and Raw hasn’t been inspiring you, give it a shot.  Don Callis and team have been putting on some solid wrestling shows.
