Another former WWE star is ‘expected’ to return to the company barring unforeseen circumstances in the coming weeks.
The future of Mercedes Mone in wrestling has been a hot topic in recent weeks, with her now expected to be headed to All Elite Wrestling.
Mercedes and Trinity Fatu both walked out of the company back in 2022, with Trinity now reigning as the IMPACT Knockouts Champion, though it seems that she may be set to return to WWE.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), sources within TNA Wrestling have noted that the former Naomi is expected to be a free agent ‘very soon’.
It is expected that Trinity will finish up with TNA soon, though Fightful hasn’t heard whether or not that will happen at the TNA Hard to Kill pay-per-view.
In January of 2023, WWE sources noted that they were confident they could re-sign Trinity, before an unofficial hiring freeze was put in place, though it is not known if that had anything to do with her ultimately end up back.
WWE sources noted that, not only did they think there was a chance that Trinity could return to the company, many claimed to have expected it, as well as IMPACT Wrestling sources noting that they expected it ‘sooner than later’.
One source noted to Fightful today that ‘something huge would have to happen for her to not end up back in WWE sooner than later’.
