Match Card For WWE SmackDown Vs. Raw Event

It’s been a few years now since WWE had some brand warfare going on, at least in the form of a dedicated PLE, as Survivor Series has gone in the direction of WarGames instead.

There have been times that General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis have been at odds and it seemed like something might have been imminent, but it never ends up lasting before they’re getting along again.

At best brand warfare can make both shows a lot more must-watch (at a time right now that neither feels must-watch), and at worst, it’s a fun novelty for a night where you get to see matches you wouldn’t usually see, though the looseness of the brand split in recent times lessens that impact quite a bit.

If there was to be a SmackDown vs Raw card anytime soon, here are a few key matches that would fit right in.

Rey Fenix vs. Rey Mysterio

If it hadn’t have just happened a few days ago, Penta vs Rey Fenix would have been on this list.

However, since it has, we won’t repeat it so soon, and instead, Fenix is pitted up against WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.

Fenix has been on a great run as of late with some awesome matches against the likes of Axiom, Nathan Frazer, EK Prosper, Dragon Lee and the aforementioned Penta in WWE, as well as bangers against Mini Vikingo and Noisy Boy in AAA.

Meanwhile, Mysterio consistently proves he can still go at the age of 51, including in his recent outings against Ethan Page and Chad Gable.

This is not only a lucha libre dream match, but also a generational dream match in general that we’ve never seen before.

The MFTs vs. The Usos

It felt right to include a tag team match on this card, but it’s no secret that the WWE tag division is absolutely dire right now, so this is what we’ve ended up with.

The Usos have become a little bit tiresome in recent times, but the options are so limited as far as actual active tag teams that they’re the best of the bunch.

The MFTs, however, have legitimately felt reinvigorated and refreshed after the arrival of their father Haku.

Add in the Bloodline family element to this and the MFTs’ past alliance with Solo Sikoa, and this could be interesting enough to make for a successful addition to the card.

Rhea Ripley vs. IYO SKY

Rhea Ripley vs IYO SKY isn’t a match we’ve never seen before, but it is one where there’s a lot of unfinished business.

Their last match at WWE Evolution ended with Naomi’s Money in the Bank cash-in, and it felt like the RHIYO tag team earlier this year could have led to a spirited rematch at WrestleMania, but that didn’t happen, as Ripley instead faced Jade Cargill and SKY wasn’t even on the card other than helping Ripley in that match.

Now on opposite brands, a SmackDown vs Raw event could be the perfect way to settle the score.

CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

This one is obviously a little bit different as it isn’t one on one SmackDown vs Raw, but rather two from each brand.

It was hard to bring it down to a singles match, and actually, a four-way works well here as there’s interplay between all four men – CM Punk has individual history with Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Rhodes has individual history with Punk, Reigns and Rollins. And so on, and so on.

Each man has plenty of history with the other three men individually, so putting it all together would pretty much result in the ultimate current day WWE main event.
