On Saturday, October 24, New Japan Pro Wrestling will kickstart its Super Junior Tag League tournament.

12 teams will enter into this round robin format to determine who is the best junior heavyweight pairing.

From former champions to duos on the cusp of a huge win, the potential winner of this year’s Super Jr. Tag League should go on to massive success moving forward.

Here are four potential NJPW Super Junior Tag League winners.

Ichiban Sweet Boys (Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles)

Over the past few years, TMDK‘s Ichiban Sweet Boys has been one of the most popular and decorated pairings in NJPW’s junior heavyweight division.

Robbie Eagles and Kosei Fujita won the NJPW Super Junior Tag League tournament in 2024.

The duo have also gone on to win the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championships three times.

After losing the titles earlier this year, it makes sense if The Ichiban Sweet Boys won this year’s tournament and work their way back to the gold.

KUSHIDA & Nick Wayne

One of the newer tag teams that will compete in the 2026 Super Junior Tag League is KUSHIDA and Nick Wayne.

While KUSHIDA remains as a stalwart of the junior division, Wayne has undergone a massive change in AEW over the past few months.

After finding success in the Best of Super Juniors tournament this year, Wayne had a character change into a cocky, arrogant jerk in his feud with Chris Jericho.

Now being paired with another veteran, it should lead to an intriguing dynamic that may yield success in the form of a win in the NJPW Super Junior Tag League 2026 tournament.

United Empire (Francesco Akira & Jakob Austin Young)

United Empire are no strangers to winning the Super Junior Tag League tournament.

Back in 2023, Francesco Akira was aligned with TJP who won the tournament that year.

Over the course of a few years as a pairing, Akira and TJP were also three-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

However, Akira is now paired up with Jakob Austin Young and could rebound from recent losses by winning the NJPW Super Jr. Tag League 2026.

Unbound Co. (Taiji Ishimori & Robbie X)

Unbound Co. will be represented by two separate duos in the NJPW Super Junior Tag League.

Besides Titan and Daiki Nagai, Taiji Ishimori and Robbie X will be competing in the tournament again.

In 2025, Ishimori and X made it to the finals of the tournament before coming up short.

Now one year later, Unbound Co. could bring home the trophy with a victory for Ishimori and Robbie X here.
