The wrestling world is still reeling from the loss of AEW star PAC.
Over the course of the past 22 years, PAC has left a litany of instant classics along the way with his run in WWE having plenty of the most special bouts of his career.
Here are the five best and defining matches for PAC, then known as Neville, in WWE.
Adrian Neville vs. Bo Dallas – NXT Championship Ladder Match (WWE NXT Arrival)
Many fans were first introduced to PAC, then known as Adrian Neville, at the NXT Arrival event in February 2014.
At the first NXT event to air on the WWE Network, Neville was the challenger against NXT Champion Bo Dallas in a Ladder Match.
Showing off his amazing speed, athleticism and agility, Neville displayed to the world the skill that got him to this place.
Winning the NXT Championship, Neville kickstarted a run that is widely regarded as one of the best in the title’s history.
Neville vs. Austin Aries – WWE Cruiserweight Championship (WWE WrestleMania 33)
The other most fondly remembered time of Neville‘s time in WWE had to be his runs as the Cruiserweight Champion.
Turning heel and becoming “The King of the Cruiserweights,” Neville got his first major spotlight rivalry when he started feuding with Austin Aries.
The two men would do battle on several occasions, including on the pre-show for the WrestleMania 33 event.
Neville walked away with the win, but both men showed what made the Cruiserweight division must watch at the time.
Neville vs. Seth Rollins – WWE World Heavyweight Championship (August 8, 2015 WWE Raw)
Before his time as Cruiserweight Champion, the bout that will be mentioned the most for Neville was his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against Seth Rollins.
Adopting John Cena’s US Open Challenge, Rollins gave a title opportunity to anyone with Neville accepting to kick off the August 8, 2015 episode of Monday Night Raw.
On this night, “The Man That Gravity Forgot” pushed Rollins to his limit and made fans recognize his talents
After hitting the Red Arrow, Neville covered the champion with everyone in the crowd counting it off as if he got the three only for Seth’s foot to get on the ropes in a moment still fondly remembered to this day.
Adrian Neville vs. Tyler Breeze vs. Tyson Kidd vs. Sami Zayn – NXT Championship (WWE NXT TakeOver: Fatal 4 Way)
Going back to Neville‘s legendary NXT Championship run, one of the most standout bouts of this reign had to be at TakeOver: Fatal 4 Way.
In the titular bout, Adrian Neville defended the title against Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze and Sami Zayn.
All four men put on a stunning display of athleticism and in-ring chemistry in a barnburner
Neville stole victory from the jaws of defeat after using nefarious means to deny his friend Zayn the win and walked out still the NXT Champion.
Adrian Neville vs. Sami Zayn – NXT Championship (WWE NXT TakeOver: R-Evolution)
Culminating a story that spanned a year, Adrian Neville defended the NXT Championship against Sami Zayn in the main event of WWE NXT TakeOver: R-Evolution.
While he was a babyface for most of his 287-day reign, Neville came into this bout playing a subtle heel against the ultimate underdog challenger.
Dominating the bout, Neville showed his confidence and poise that made him a fantastic champion.
In what is still considered an all-timer in the brand’s history, Zayn overcame Neville and ended his 287 day reign to finally win the NXT Championship.
