Next WWE Tribal Chief after Roman Reigns: Five stars who could lead the Bloodline following the OTC

With Roman Reigns’ recent comments about his WWE future and retirement plans, there has been some speculation about the next star to become Tribal Chief in the Bloodline.

Following Reigns previously stating that he believed he’d only wrestle for a year or two max after WrestleMania 42, the OTC recently told Complex that he believes there are still “a couple to a few years” left to tie up loose ends and logic gaps surrounding his career.

One of these loose ends would no-doubt be his position as Head of the Table, with Reigns currently acknowledged as the Tribal Chief of the Anoa’i/Fatu family.

Whoever takes on this position would carry with them the legacy of perhaps the most prestigious family in wrestling history, represented by the likes of The Rock, Rikishi and Yokozuna.

Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief

After defeating Jey Uso in their Hell in a Cell I Quit match at Hell in a Cell 2020, Roman Reigns was presented with a special lei necklace by Afa and Sika.

This lei, known in WWE as the Ula Fala, would highlight the Tribal Chief and Head of the Table within the Anoa’i family.

Roman Reigns first put his position of Tribal Chief on the line at SummerSlam 2023, defending both the WWE Undisputed Universal Title and the Ula Fala in Tribal Combat against Jey Uso.

Reigns’ next Tribal Combat match took place on the January 6, 2025 Raw episode against Solo Sikoa, ahead of Reigns defending the Ula Fala against Jacob Fatu at Clash In Italy in May.

So who in WWE could become the next Tribal Chief? WWE has several options…

Jimmy Uso

Jimmy Uso is the only member of the current iteration of the Bloodline faction who hasn’t challenged Roman Reigns in a Tribal Combat match.

He has had significant influence on the results of multiple Tribal Combat match results however, including the unofficial match at Hell in a Cell 2020, with Jey Uso quitting to make Roman Reigns release his Guillotine choke on Jimmy Uso.

Jimmy Uso also cost Jey Uso the Tribal Combat match at SummerSlam 2023, leading to the duo’s infamous brother vs brother match at WrestleMania 40.

While it’d be cool to see Jimmy Uso receive an extended singles push, there are several other stars who it’d make more sense to see wear the Ula Fala.

Jacob Fatu

With recent storyline developments, it’d make sense to see Jacob Fatu square off against Roman Reigns one last time.

Jacob Fatu unsuccessfully challenged for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash in May, and brutalized Reigns after the final bell.

With Fatu coming up short against Reigns under Tribal Combat later that month, the former US Champion acknowledged the OTC on the following episode of Raw, and has been a member of the Bloodline ever since.

There has been some friction between Reigns and Fatu in recent months, with Jacob notably not saving Reigns from Solo Sikoa’s attack on the August 17 Raw episode.

With WWE clearly building towards a big Reigns vs Fatu match, and Fatu’s in-ring ability, Jacob is many fans’ pick for the star who should succeed Roman Reigns as Tribal Chief.

Zilla Fatu

A wildcard choice for the next Tribal Chief is Zilla Fatu, the latest member of the family to sign with WWE.

Zilla Fatu made his WWE debut on the August 11 NXT episode, attacking Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller. With Zilla’s first WWE match ever being for the NXT Championship at Heatwave, it’s clear that the company plans to present the Fatu family member as a top prospect.

While Zilla Fatu has a lot to learn in WWE, we could see him take on the Solo Sikoa “enforcer” role within the Bloodline ahead of leading the faction for himself.

Solo Sikoa

In December 2023, Roman Reigns named Solo Sikoa the official heir to the Tribal Chief title.

This is why Sikoa was so quick to declare himself Tribal Chief in Roman Reigns’ absence after WrestleMania 40, leading to the duo feuding and eventually clashing in Tribal Combat in January 2025.

With Solo Sikoa recently refusing to acknowledge Roman Reigns, it would make sense if, after everything, the young star ultimately does end up officially taking over the Bloodline.

Jey Uso

Besides Roman Reigns, Jey Uso is the most decorated active member of the Bloodline, being a former World Heavyweight Champion, and one title win away from a Grand Slam.

Following Hell in a Cell 2020 and SummerSlam 2023, it’d be a full-circle moment to see Jey Uso finally dethrone the OTC and wear the Ula Fala.

If WWE had to choose Roman Reigns’ successor today, Main Event Jey has a resume which would make him a popular choice for the role.
