Roman Reigns has been WWE World Heavyweight Champion since defeating CM Punk for the gold at WrestleMania 42.

With the Undisputed WWE Championship changing hands five times this year, there has been some speculation about the Tribal Chief potentially being dethroned for his gold.

While I’ve already explained why I believe the World Heavyweight Title changing hands would be best for business, there are numerous stars who could defeat Roman Reigns to take the gold.

From potential Money in the Bank winners to long-awaited title challengers, WWE isn’t short of potential successors to choose from on the Raw roster.

Here are three potential next WWE World Heavyweight Champions after Roman Reigns.

LA Knight

LA Knight poses the most immediate threat to Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship reign, with the two stars set to face off this coming Saturday.

Knight will challenge for Reigns’ gold at Money in the Bank, which will emanate from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on October 10.

This is just one of several WWE titles which could change hands over the next week, with a number of title matches announced, and others potentially being made through Money in the Bank cash-ins.

With a number of stars targeting Reigns, WWE could crown LA Knight as champion to give fans a major surprise.

Je’Von Evans

Je’Von Evans will be one of three Raw representatives in the six-man Money in the Bank ladder match slated for October 10.

Evans is one of the more exciting prospects in the match, both because of his in-ring style, and because he is focused on making WWE world title history.

The 22-year old has the chance the become the youngest world champion in WWE history. If he wins either the WWE Championship or World Heavyweight Title before September 11, 2028, he will break the record currently held by Randy Orton.

If Je’Von Evans wins the Money in the Bank contract, the World Heavyweight Championship picture will become more intriguing.

Oba Femi

WWE has been teasing a Roman Reigns vs Oba Femi clash for some time, with The Ruler calling out the new World Heavyweight Champion following WrestleMania 42.

Oba Femi has actually given up a guaranteed title match in the months since – choosing to instead face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam after winning the King of the Ring tournament – indicating that WWE is saving this bout for a special occasion.

Previous reports from the Wrestling Observer stated that this bout is planned for WrestleMania 43, which would mean the final bout would ultimately be a year in the making.

With Roman Reigns’ recent comments about retirement, it would make sense to see him pass the torch on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
