WWE
WWE has today listed their top 10 best Money In The Bank winners in history, with a heavy bias towards the modern roster.
The Money In The Bank Ladder match has been a staple of WWE television for over 20 years now, with WrestleMania 21 back in 2005 being the first time the match took place.
Over the years there have been many iconic moments and cash-ins, from Edge’s shocking first cash-in, to Seth Rollins’ Heist of the Century, to the night all members of the Shield reigned as WWE Champion within a span of 10 minutes.
WWE’s best Money In The Bank winners list
Today, WWE uploaded a video going over what the company believes to be the 10 best Money In The Bank wins in history.
The list consists of:
1) Liv Morgan (2022)
2) Seth Rollins (2014)
3) Big E (2021)
4) IYO SKY (2023)
5) Damian Priest (2023)
6) Brock Lesnar (2019)
7) Naomi (2025)
8) CM Punk (2008)
9) Carmella (2017)
10) The Miz (2010)
The list consists primarily of members of the current roster, with only Brock Lesnar and Carmella being names not currently under contract to WWE, though Lesnar was up until 2 months ago.
The omissions and the obvious reasons for them
There are a number of obvious omissions from WWE’s list, the most obvious being Edge’s Money In The Bank win in 2005 and iconic cash-in at New Year’s Revolution 2006, to Dean Ambrose’s cash-in on Seth Rollins in 2016, and Dolph Ziggler’s 2012 victory and Raw after WrestleMania cash-in on Alberto Del Rio.
The reason behind the exclusion of Edge and Dean Ambrose, while incredibly petty, should be obvious, with the two currently both being under contract with AEW, as well as Daniel Bryan who was also not featured on the list.
While Ziggler, now Nic Nemeth, also no longer works for WWE, he works with WWE’s partnership promotion TNA, as well as appearing on Busted Open Radio on WWE Radio, so his omission from the list is a little more bizarre.
What makes a great Money In The Bank winner?
There are several things that go into making a great Money In The Bank winner, with the moment of the victory in the match itself among them, but arguably the least important.
The run that the Money In The Bank winner goes on following the win is more important to making a great Money In The Bank winner, but the ultimate cash-in is by far the moment that stands out most in fans’ mind, and can make or break an entire Money In The Bank run.
