8 – Mills and Mayhew
Speaking of lighter, high flyers, Connor Mills and Maverick Mayhew are hugely impressive on their own, but even more so as a tag team. They’re both young, but already very technically experienced – and you have to ask – if this is the skill level they’re at now, how good are they going to be in five years time?
They’re definitely cruiserweights, but that’s not inherently a bad thing. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them fight a few times now, both against and alongside each other, and I feel as if every time I watch them, I see some sort of new offense or move that I’ve not really seen before. They’re innovators, and they’ve got a lot of space to grow and flourish. They’ve had work on a few Progress Chapters, and as great as it is to see them getting these opportunities, it’s even better that they’re getting regularly booked on smaller, newer promotions and getting in on the ground floor. They can only ever rise alongside these promotions, and I’d be very surprised if they didn’t.
