Three new WWE tag team signings: Debuting names & former stars to help rebuild the struggling tag division

The WWE tag team division is in its worst state now than it has been in quite some time, with neither Raw or SmackDown providing many reasons to be hopeful for the future.

While this certainly lands on WWE’s creative department rather than the talent themselves, the company could certainly benefit from the introduction of some new teams across both brands.

Whether former stars returning to reunite with names already in WWE, or brand new signings making a mark in the company for the first time, here are three potential new WWE tag team signings.

The Skyscrapers (Baron Corbin & Donovan Dijak)

Now that Baron Corbin is seemingly out of the United States Title picture following his latest loss to Trick Williams, ‘The Nomad’ will need something new to focus on in WWE.

TV time on SmackDown is hard to come by with the show at two hours, so rather than hoping to find something for him to do as a singles star, WWE might be better using Corbin in the tag team division.

During Corbin’s independent run in 2025/2026 he formed a successful tag team with fellow WWE alum Donovan Dijak. The pair, known as The Skyscrapers, reigned as MLW World Tag Team Champions for almost a year before Corbin moved back to WWE this Summer.

With Dijak not being really given a fair shot on main roster during his first WWE run, it’d be nice to see the imposing pair reunite in WWE.

Big Cass & Enzo Amore

The most requested tag team reunion on the table for WWE right now is that of Enzo Amore and Big Cass.

It appeared as if we were going to get it over the Summer when Cass departed AEW and Amore was spotted at the WWE Performance Center, however, it was only Cass that ended up re-signing with the company.

Or at least that’s as far as we know anyway. Perhaps WWE did also re-sign Amore as reports suggested they would, and they’re just waiting for the right time to bring him back.

With Cass struggling to establish himself on his own however, the right time for a reunion certainly seems like now. The pair had a criminally short run together on main roster a decade ago before splitting up; it’s time for WWE to right that wrong and give them a proper run towards tag team gold.

The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens)

Back in late 2022/early 2023, there truly were few acts in AEW that were hotter than The Acclaimed. With many of the company’s top stars coming from WWE or NJPW, Max Caster and Anthony Bowens were true homegrown success stories for AEW that provided entertainment both inside and outside the ring.

Eventually fans soured on the group, seemingly paving the way for both to achieve success on their own. However, that never really happened, and less than a year after their split, they were brought back together as reluctant partners.

According to reports, both Caster and Bowens’ AEW contracts are due to be up in October and at the time of writing there is no word on whether the company are in negotiations to retain either men.

WWE are said to have “at least some” interest in signing Bowens, and “The Pride of Pro Wrestling” certainly has a lot of untapped potential as a singles star. But if WWE want to give their tag division a major shot in the arm, they should consider signing both Bowens and Caster. While the latter would certainly have to tone down his pre-match raps, The Acclaimed could potentially recapture some of their magic in a new home.
